Aleksandr Swietow


Aleksandr Semyonov, Russian Александр Семенович Светов (born May 2, 1895 in Orenburg, died November 3, 1961 in Frankfurt am Main) - Soviet engineer, military officer of the Russian Liberation Army during World War II, emigrant journalist and publicist.

He was born under the name Parfionov. He graduated from the polytechnic institute in Petrograd, and then worked as an engineer. After the German invasion of the USSR on June 22, 1941, he was mobilized to the Red Army. Soon he was captured by the Germans. Initially, he was in an ordinary POW camp, but in the summer of 1942 he was transferred to the camp at Zittenhorst and then to the camp in Wustrau. Later he joined the Russian Liberation Army (ROA). At the end of the war he was the editor of NTS "Posiew". In 1947 he emigrated to Morocco, where he worked as a surveyor. In 1951 he came to Germany. He later became deputy editor of the main journal "Our Days". He also wrote articles in "Grani" and "Posiew". Bibliography
