Marek Fornal


Marek Fornal (born February 25, 1968) is a Polish volleyball player. Representative of Poland, champion of Poland (1988, 1989). Sports career

He is a groom of the Grodziec Będzin club. In the season 1987/1988 he made his debut in the team of the Hutnik Kraków team. In 1988 and 1989 he won the Polish championship with Cracow, the Polish vice-champion in 1990, the Polish Cup in 1988 and 1990. During the 1990-1991 season he was called to serve in the military and became a Black Radom fighter. The Radomski club left the 1991/92 season and returned to Hutnik, where he played in the 1992/93 season in the B-League. Then he performed in the Szczecin Sea (including 1994-1996 in the top league), Kazimierz Płomień Sosnowiec (in the 1997-1991 season). In subsequent years he played in teams of lower classes (WKS Wawel AGH Kraków and AZS Cracow University of Technology (in the second of these clubs in 2006-2008))

In the Junior Poland national team he played in the 1986 European Championship (6th place). In the Polish national team, he made his debut on 29 March 1987 in a friendly encounter with the Netherlands. He last played on 29 July 1993 in a friendly encounter with France. He played 59 matches in all but in no championship tournament.

At the end of his career he was Trainer of AZS Cracow University of Technology (December 2008-October 2010) and trainer-coordinator in Huta Cracow.

His sons Tomasz and John also play volleyball. Bibliography
