As a 17-year-old scout of the Gray Ranks in the Warsaw Uprising he participated in organizing a route of crossing between Prague and Mokotów, fighting the Vistula.
Between 1945 and 1946, a deputy commander (deputy commandant) of the Prague Scout Troop.
Graduate of the 19th Grammar School. Warsaw Insurgents.
In 1951 he graduated from the Medical Academy in Warsaw and started working at the new Children's Surgery Clinic at ul. Lithuania. He graduated in 1961 from the Faculty of Medicine and obtained his habilitation at the Military Medical Academy in Warsaw in 1973. In 1990 he was awarded the title of Professor.
As the first cardiac surgeon in Poland, deep hypothermia in the treatment of the aortic-pulmonary window, was also a pioneer in the treatment of congenital heart defects in the form of large vessels.
He created the Children's Cardiac Surgery Clinic at the Children's Health Center in 1978-1997. In the years 1996-1998 he was the chairman of the Scientific Council of the IPCZD Institute. Founder of the Polish Cardio-Thoracic Society.
He was the author of more than 100 scientific papers. Awarded with many awards and distinctions, among others. The award of the Minister of Health, the Golden Cross of Merit, the Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta, the Officer's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta, the Cross of Valor and the Warsaw Insurgent Cross.
