Braking mass
Braking mass (braking weight) - a conventional quantity used to determine the braking capacity of a vehicle / train. This amount is related to the force with which the brakes are able to brake the vehicle / train of a given mass. A mass value of 1 t corresponds to a value of braking force equal to 1 kN. The value of the braking mass of the vehicle is indicated on its side walls, reflex or brake adjustment plate.
