John Iversen


John Iversen (born 4 January 1954 in Grindsted) is a Danish politician, Member of the European Parliament II, III and IV term. Curriculum vitae

With a teacher education, he studied at Aarhus. For two years he worked as a teacher, later he was employed as a civil servant in Luxembourg. He was an activist of the Socialist People's Party. From her shoulder in 1985, he assumed the mandate of a MEP. He was re-elected in 1989, sitting in the EP until 1994. He was Vice-President of the Commission for the Environment, Public Health and Consumer Protection. He was not re-elected, and in 1995 he became press spokesman Ritt Bjerregaard, a Danish member of the European Commission. In 1996 he re-entered the European Parliament (replacing Lilli Gyldenkilde), mandated until 1999. During his tenure he went to Socialdemocrat.

Since 2000 he has been working in the press office of the Social Democrats. In 2001 he successfully ran for Folketinget. In the years 2011-2013 he acted as an advisor to the Minister of Transport. He later joined a private consulting firm.
