James Cardno


James Farquhar Cardno (born May 25, 1912 in Fraserburgh, May 15, 1975 in Leeds) is a British bobsleigh, bronze medalist for the Olympic Games. Career

The biggest success came in 1936 when the British team of Frederick McEvoy, James Cardno, Guy Dugdale and Charles Green won the bronze medal in four at the Olympic Games in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. In the same games with McEvoy, he finished fourth in double. The British lost the podium battle with the USA (Gilbert Colgate and Richard Lawrence) by 6.29 seconds. It was his only Olympic event and the only medal to be won at an international event of this rank.
