Chief Janssen
"Sjefke" Janssen (born October 28, 1919 in Elsloo, December 3, 2014) is a Dutch cyclist, bronze medalist of the World Cup. Career Sjef Janssen's greatest success came in 1947, when he won the bronze medal in the race for a joint start at the Reims World Championship. Only his compatriot Theofiel Middelkamp and Belg Albert Sercu were ahead of him. In the same competition was also the twentieth in the two years later the Copenhagen World Cup. He made several appearances in the Tour de France, scoring the best result in 1947 when he finished 32th. A year earlier he took part in the Vuelta a España, but did not finish the race. He never performed at the Olympic Games. He ended his career in 1954. Bibliography
