Waldemar Bałkowiec ps. "Iskra" (born April 17, 1925 in Sokolow Podlasie, January 20, 2014) - Polish activist of the Polish underground during the Second World War, member of the Home Army (AK), then anti-Communist underground under the Association of Freedom and Independence ".
Since September 1942, he was an AK activist in charge of gathering information on collaborators with the German occupying forces, as well as searching for hiding flyers with the command to prepare for the West's transfer and to participate in the acquisition and storage of weapons. In 1945, he was arrested by the Security Office. After escaping, he joined the association "Freedom and Independence." In 1946, sentenced to ten years in prison.
