Phosphodiester bonding
Phosphodiester bonding scheme
Phosphodiester bonding - chemical bond formed by the combination of two hydroxyl groups by a phosphate group. Phosphodiester binding in nucleic acids
Phosphodiester binding in nucleic acids binds the nucleotides in the DNA and RNA chains, by combining with the fifth carbon atom in the deoxyribose group of the one nucleotide third carbon atom of the second nucleotide deoxyribose. Enzymes that hydrolyze the internucleotide phosphodiester bond are nucleases.
