Hayes Peninsula


Hayes (Hayes Halvø) - Greenland peninsula in the northern part of its west coast. It consists of Inglefield's Earth, which is the westernmost point of Greenland, Cape Alexander (Ullersuaq). From the east lies the Knud Rasmussen Earth. From the north-west, the peninsula is covered with the Strait of Smith and the south of Melville Bay, part of the Baffin Sea.

It is administered by the municipality of Qaasuitsup. It is located in Qaanaaq town, small settlements such as Savissivik, and Thule air base. The peninsula was named in honor of the American Arctic explorer, Isaac Hayes.
