Enea Sbarretti
Enea Sbarretti (born January 27, 1808 in Spoleto, died on May 1, 1884 in Rome) - Italian Catholic priest, cardinal, uncle Cardinal Donato Raffaele Sbarretti.
In 1830 he was ordained a priest. From 1853 to 1875 he was an auditor of the Tribunal of the Roman Rota. In the years 1875-1877 he was the secretary of the Congregation for Bishops and Religious and consultant of the Holy Office. March 12, 1877 Pius IX elevated him to the cardinal's rank, and on March 20, 1877, he gave him the titular deaconia Santa Maria ad Martyres. He took part in the 1878 Conclave, choosing Leo XIII. From 1878 until his death, he was the prefect for the economic affairs of the Congregation for the Spreading of Faith. Bibliography
