Arthur Chevrolet


Arthur Chevrolet (born April 25, 1884 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, April 16, 1946, Slidell) is a Swiss-American racing driver and car manufacturer. Career

In his career, Chevrolet has competed mainly in the United States in the AAA Championship Car Championship and the accompanying championship of the famous Indianapolis 500 race. In his first season, in 1910, with 135 points, he finished 22nd in the final drivers' classification. In the 1911 and 1916, he only competed in the Indianapolis 500, but did not reach the finish line.

In 1929, Arthur and his brother Louis founded an airline company in which they did not succeed. After the sale, the American took up the construction of racing cars and became one of the pioneers in this field. His efforts have been appreciated by typing his name into the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame gallery. Museum in 1990. Bibliography
