Antoni Patla


Antoni Patla (born 13 April 1898 in Głowemy, died May 10, 1977 in Augustów) is a Polish museumologist, educator, journalist, participant in the resistance movement during the Second World War.

Since 1912 a member of the Polish Country Travel Association. From 1922 he stayed in Grodno, where he worked as a teacher, while actively working in the PTK. During World War II a member of the underground in Krosno. From 1945 to 1947 he was the organizer and head of the Orphanage for orphans in Jackow. From 1947 to 1950 the head of the Horticultural High School in Suwałki. He was also Vice-President of the Board of the PTTK District in Bialystok. Since 1955 he created his own home in the neighborhood of the Regional Museum in Augustów. He was also the initiator of setting up a reserve on Lake Hańcza and also the founder of the Suwałki Landscape Park. In 1959 he published the Guide to the Beauty of the Suwałki-Augustow Land. He was also a co-founder of the. Maria Konopnicka. He died while working while writing a book on Krośnieńska's Land for the Literary Monthly Contest. Awarded the Cross of the Virtuti Militari 5th Class, Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta, Gold Medal of Honor, PTTK Medal. A. Janowski.
