Darius Petrošius


Darius Petrošius (born on July 2, 1975 in Milgaudžiai in the Taurage area) - Lithuanian politician, lawyer and local government official, MP of the Republic of Lithuania. Curriculum vitae

Son of Pranas Petrošius, activist of the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party and mayor of Taurogi. In 1993 he graduated from high school in Taurogi. He was educated at the Michał Römer University, where he graduated in law in 1998, and in 2004 he received his doctorate. In the years 1996-1998 he worked in the service of protection of public persons within the Ministry of the Interior, then until 2008 as an academic teacher at his alma mater. In the years 2000-2003 he was also employed at the Lithuanian Military Academy Gen. Jonas Žemaitis. From 2003, he held directorships in commercial law companies.

He became involved in political activities also under the LSDP. In 2011 he obtained the mandate of the councilor of the Taurage region. In the 2012 elections, he was elected to the Sejm of the Republic of Lithuania by the Social Democrats. In 2016, he unsuccessfully applied for a parliamentary reelection.
