Reboiler - a type of heat exchanger used to evaporate liquid matter at the expense of heat transferred from other liquid (liquid, gas, steam). Reboilers are a component of industrial distillation systems. They are usually located at the bottom of the rectification column and fed with reflux. The resulting steam is then re-directed to the distillation column and the high-boiling fractions are removed in liquid form.
In a typical industrial distillation column, the total number of substances involved in the separation comes from the reboiler. Bibliography
