Beser
Beser, Bezer, Bosra, Bostra (Hebrew בֶּצֶר) - an ancient city in Moab and a biblical city of refuge belonging to the Ruben tribe (Beṣer literally means "place inaccessible").
According to the Book of Deuteronomy (Dt 4: 41-43), Joshua (Joshua 20: 8, 21,36) and 1 Chronicles (1 Kings 6,63) were located east of Jericho on the right bank of the Jordan , in the Jahsa desert. Probably as Bosra was mentioned in the book of Jeremiah beside Kerijjot and "all the cities of the Moab, far and near" (Jer 48:24), and as Bezer - in the inscription of the Moabite king Messiah. Identified with today's Umm el-'Amād. Bibliography
