Eric Forbes-Robertson
The Bather
Eric Forbes-Robertson (born 1865, died 1935) is an English painter and graphic designer.
He has been studying at the Académie Julian in Paris since 1880, during which time he has been friends with Paul Sérusier, Pierre Bonard, Édouard Vuillard and Maurice Denis. In 1890 he traveled with Robert Bevan to Pont-Aven in Brittany, where he jointly held paintings. There he met Paul Gauguin, his name appears in Gauguin's notebook along with the names of Roderic O'Connor and Armand Seguin. In 1897 he married art student Janina Flamm, the wedding took place on the island of Jersey. At this ceremony, she became the bridesmaid of Stanislaus de Karłowska and met her future husband, Robert Bevan. Robert Forson's subsequent fate is unclear, and he was reportedly involved in two of his works together with the Esperantist Vagabond Club in 1911. Bibliography
