Awhustyn Dombrowski
Avhustyn (Avgustyn) Antonowycz Dombrowski (born September 9, 1880 in Smarzów, died on May 24, 1979 in Lviv) - Ukrainian social activist, educator.
A graduate of the State Teachers' Seminary in Tarnopol, a teacher of folk schools. During the First World War, he was appointed to the Austrian army, in the years 1915-1918 he was in Russian captivity.
A member of the Ukrainian Radical Party. During the formation of the Western Ukrainian People's Republic (ZURL), he became a member of the Ukrainian National Council from the Poviat Counties. In 1919-1928 he was in exile in Czechoslovakia, working as a teacher in Transcarpathia.
An author of textbooks Ukrainian ukwark and many articles in pedagogical journals, in the years 1929-1930 he edited the newspaper "Uczytelśke Słowo" in Lviv.
Marijka Pidhirianki's married husband.
In 1940 he was arrested by the Soviet authorities and deported. Bibliography
