Wanda Orlińska


Wanda Orlińska (born in 1942 in Stalowa Wola, died January 24, 2017) - Polish painter and illustrator of books for children and youth. Curriculum vitae and creativity

Wanda Orlińska was born in Stalowa Wola. She studied at the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. In 1967, she received a diploma with distinction in the studio of Jan Marcin Szancer. She dealt with painting and graphics.

Illustrated dozens of books for children and young people, as well as many school textbooks. For many years she cooperated with the publishing house Nasza Księgarnia, for which, among others, she created illustrations for the very popular series "Read to me mom". Her illustrations can also be found in the books of many famous writers and poets who write for children and young people (including Małgorzata Musierowicz, Joanna Chmielewska, Danuta Wawiłow and Wiera Badalska).

She participated in many exhibitions at home and abroad. During the last years of her life she was associated with the Zamojszczyzna area, among others she exhibited her work at BWA Zamość.

Privately she was the wife of the painter Bogusław Orliński.
