Fernando Esquivel

Fernando Esquivel Duran (born 17 August 1939 in San Ramón) is a Costa Rican athlete.

He represented Costa Rica at the Olympic Games in Mexico in 1968 with a weight average. He scored the first two attempts at 115 and 120 kg, weighing 125 kg, he failed to lift. The Costa Rican achieved the worst score among all competitors.

In the first two attempts at 100 and 105 kg, the bar weighing 110 kg proved to be too heavy for Esquivel. Similarly, he lifted a bar weighing 140 and 145 kg, but a third attempt at 150 kg was unsuccessful. In all the components (extrusion, rupture, pods), however, had the worst results, which also translated into the last place in the combined classification with the result of 370 kg (ahead only competitors who did not finish the competition).
