Paweł Nagaishi
Pawel Nagaishi (died 10 September 1622 Nishizaka Hill in Nagasaki, Japan) - Blessed Catholic Church, Japanese catechist, Dominican tertiary, martyr, victim of anti-Catholic persecution in Japan. Curriculum vitae From 1607 to 1613, he helped as a catechist in the evangelizing work of the Dominican missionaries in the vicinity of the city of Saga. Then he and his missionaries were exiled to Nagasaki. In July 1617 he was imprisoned with Tomasz de Zumárraga Lazacano, but in early 1618 he was freed. He was again arrested in the spring of 1619 on the charge of spreading Christian teachings. On September 10, 1622, he was burned alive after witnessing the death of his wife, Tekla Nagaishi, and his son, Peter's 7-year-old son.
He was beatified with his wife and son in a group of 205 Japanese martyrs by Pius IX on July 7, 1867 (document dated May 7, 1867).
