Oak King of the Unknown
Column of the trunk - The Unknown King The Unknown King - an oak growing in the Nieznanowo wilderness in the Bialowieza Forest (circumference 130 cm from the root of the trunk - 608 cm, height 38 m). This is one of the biggest trunks of the Białowieża oak. The first boughs go from the trunk to the height of 18 m. The tree has a column trunk, interestingly embedded in the ground. Since 1988, there has been a gradual decline of the tree. In 2007, two small branches were covered with leaves.
In 2009, the oak froze.
Already in the 1930s, he appeared in photographs depicted in interwar periodicals devoted to the protection of nature. The oak monument was registered at the end of the 50s. Since the mid-1960s, the perimeter of the trunk has increased by about 45 cm.
