Dunin Cemetery (Dunino 6) - a prehistoric cemetery in the Kaczawa valley near Legnica, near the village of Dunino in Krotoszyce. One of the largest and richest in terms of the number of archaeological finds in the Lusatian culture cemeteries in Poland.
The findings were made in 2015 during the preparatory work on the construction of the S3 expressway. Initially, the possibility of finding souvenirs after the battle of Kaczawa from 1813 was initially calculated. At the Dunino 6 (3,5 hectares) site, a bronze cemetery dating from about 2800-3300 years ago (ie, during the period when the bronze-maker settlement was functioning From the Koskowickie Lake, about two hundred burial mounds, as well as cavities (the probable discovery may include up to a thousand burials). Most of the graves contain a few urns and many accompanying objects, especially ceramic dishes with food, grains, weapons or bronze ornaments. It was discovered. decorative beads, pendants, earrings, tools (hollows, whips), javelins and spears, and even objects with insignia of power. There were also remnants of mounds of people who remained high in the social hierarchy of that time. Archaeologists have also found a ritual trolley designed to carry souls. Findings from Dunin will complement the exhibition of the Copper Museum in Legnica.
