Finger (Kasprowy Wierch)


Finger visible to the right of the cable car building Finger - a large rock in the peaks of Kasprowy Wierch in Polish Western Tatras. It is located in its north-eastern wall, slightly below the upper station of the cable car. From below, the finger is visible to the right of the rope line. Climbers climbed it. The first passage on the right side of the wall of the Finger: Marcin Józefowicz in winter (4th grade on the UIAA difficulty scale), the first crossing of the eastern wall of Fingers Jan Burzykowski and Ludwik Ziemblic in September 1955 (5th grade).

From the ridge between the station of the cable car and the finger to the top of the Sucha Kasprowa Valley falls very steep Żleb under the finger, whose name is derived from the finger. They were skiing in winter and they were extreme skiing. Nowadays, the whole Kasprowy Valley is an area of ​​strict protection, closed to tourists, climbers and skiers.
