Dniepro-Donetsk culture

Approximate extent of the Dnieper-Donetsk culture against other Neolithic cultures

Dnepro-Donetsk culture - neolithic archaeological culture from the Dnieper and Donu basins. Dated for the period from the end of the fifth quarter. BC to the end of III th. BC Included in the culture cycle with combinational ceramics.

The population settled down, built small settlements consisting of oval or rectangular hemispheres. Ceramics, decorated with stamps and rivets. Tools and flint weapons. Initially mainly hunting and fishing, then cattle breeding, pigs and probably horses. Cemeteries large, extensive. Graves are sometimes grouped, straightened up, laid on top.

This culture probably influenced the rise of the Nieminska culture.

The population of the culture could be the eastern part of the Praindo-Europians.
