Carpathian Convention


The Carpathian Convention - an international agreement for sustainable development in the Carpathians.

The aim of the Convention is to pursue a comprehensive policy and cooperation for the protection and sustainable development of the Carpathians to improve the quality of life, strengthen the local economy and local communities, and preserve the natural and cultural heritage of the area. The convention was signed in 2003 in Kyiv by seven states: Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Ukraine and Hungary. In Poland this convention entered into force on June 19, 2006.
