Battle of Copper (1432)


Battle of Kopystrzybie - an armistice that took place on 30 November 1432 near Kopystrzyn on the Murachwa River during the Lithuanian Civil War. The Polish army under the command of the russian governor Jan Mężyk from Dąbrowa and castellan of the Wincenty from Szamotuły, broke up the Rusko-Tartar-Moldovan-Wallach army led by the starost of Braclawski and the Silesian Fedek of Ostrog. Losses among the Ruthenians, Tatars, Moldavians and Volovans source estimates for several thousand killed. Fedko himself ran from the field. Polish losses amounted to over a thousand killed.
