Wojciech Jasiński (local government)


Wojciech Jan Jasiński (born on April 20, 1967 in Żyrardów) - Polish self-government, from 2014 President Żyrardów.

He has a university degree in engineering, he worked as a manager in a private company. In the years 2003-2005 he was a member of the Supervisory Board of Przedsiębiorstwo Energetyki Cieplnej Żyrardów sp. O.o., and from 2007 to 2011 he was the vice-president of the Management Board of Przedsiębiorstwo Gospodarki Mieszkaniowa Zyrardów sp. O.o. He also worked in the poviat road administration and as the president of a sports club. Since 2006, he has been active in the local government: for two terms he held the mandate of the Żyrardów poviat (elected from the Law and Justice list), and in 2010-2014 he chaired the District Council of Żyrardów. He managed the Alliance for Żyrardów association. After leaving the PiS, he was left without a bid.

In 2014, he took part in the presidential election of Żyrardów on behalf of KWW Nowe Przymierze Samorządowe, related to m.in. with Dariusz Kaczanowski. In the first round, he won 36.93% of the vote. In the second round, he defeated Beata Małgorzata Rusinowska, who was a member of the Civic Platform, winning 73.96% of votes.
