United Serbia

United Serbia (serbian Jedinstvena Srbija / Јединствена Србија, JS) - a Serbian political party with a conservative-liberal profile. History

The party was founded on February 15, 2004 by the entrepreneur Dragan Marković, who was associated with the "Palma", who until 2003 was active in the Nationalist Party of Serbian Unity, founded by Željka Ražnatovic and Borislav Pelevic. In 2007, JS co-operated with the Democratic Party of Serbia and New Serbia, winning two seats in the 47th National Assembly of the coalition. In 2008 the group changed allies, joining the Socialist Party of Serbia and the pensioners party. In early elections in the same year, the bloc won 20 seats in the parliament, of which JS took over 3. The coalition was renewed in 2012, the electoral list SPS-PUPS-JS won 44 seats in the National Assembly, including 7 for the United Serbian Republic. The SPS, PUPS and JS bloc also co-operated in the 2014 elections, as a result of which the United Serbia has retained its current representation in Skupszt. In the 2016 elections, the candidates of the Serbian Republic were once again on a common list with the Socialists, obtaining several seats for the deputies. Bibliography
