Krzysztof A. Wieczorek (born 1968) - Polish philosopher, logician, habilitated doctor of the humanities. Curriculum vitae

In 1993 he obtained a master's degree in philosophy on the basis of a work entitled "Actual acts of speech and expression", written under the supervision of prof. dr. hab. The Tokarza brand. A similar subject was his doctoral dissertation (defended in 1999) under the title "Effectiveness of communication in the perspective of the theory of speech acts".

He also deals with the theory of argumentation (his habilitation dissertation concerned an argument from a sloping equation).

In 2003 PWN published a first edition of his book (written with Krzysztof Szymanek and Andrzej S. Wójcik) under the title "Art of Argumentation. This is the first book in the Polish literature devoted to argument analysis and critical thinking.

He is an assistant professor in the Department of Logic and Methodology at the Institute of Philosophy at the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Silesia in Katowice. Selected publications

Myrmex Indikos, pol. Indian ant - an alleged species of gigantic ants (according to Herodot's description, larger than foxes, but smaller than dogs). The earliest mention of these creatures is dated to the fifth century BC, and its author is Herodotus. According to her, these ants inhabited the deserts of Persia and India and extracted gold from their sands. Several such creatures were kept in the residence of the King of Persia. Gold was to be obtained by caravans made up of several camels in the heat of the day, when the ants were protected underground. You had to do it quickly, because the ants sensed the smell of people and went on the pursuit, and they were deadly dangerous. The names of the streets and squares were originally of a topographical nature, that is, they informed about: Researchers propose two names for these toponyms - urban or plateonimy. S. Urbańczyk points out that the older names were spontaneously formed and sprouted in the daily lives of the inhabitants of the place.
