Ivar Virgin

Ivar Virgin (born 29 February 1936 in Ova) is a Swedish politician and economist, Member of the Riksdag, Member of the European Parliament for the fourth term. Curriculum vitae

For several years he served in the Swedish navy Svenska marinen, going to the reserve officer level. In 1966 he received a degree in economics. He ran his own farm. In 1990 he became a member of the Royal Society of Marine Science (Kungliga Örlogsmannasällskapet) and in 1993 became a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry. He joined the Moderate Coalition Party. He was a councilor in Götene and councilor of the Skaraborg region. In the years 1982-1995 he was holding a parliamentary mandate. In 1995 he became a member of the European Parliament within the national delegation. In the same year, he was given the mandate of a MEP, who served until the end of his term in 1999.
