Anita Cantieri
Anita Cantieri (born 30 March 1910 in Arancio, near Lucca, died 24 August 1942) is an Italian Carmelite maid, Anita's parents were Davino and Annunziata - humble farmers; They had 12 children. On April 3, she was baptized, Confirmation was accepted on October 3, 1915, and May 7, 1916, First Communion. At the age of twelve she decided to give herself completely to God, feeling a religious vocation. On May 24, 1930, she joined the Order of the Carmelite Sisters of St. Teresa of the Cross in Florence.
After 15 months of service, she left the monastery in August 1931, because she had fallen ill. A few years later, on July 1, 1935, she was admitted to the Third Order of Carmelite, where she adopted the name Teresa of the Child Jesus. For the last 8 years of his life the cancer has caught her in bed. In spite of this, she was active in her parish. She died on the day of the feast of St. Bartholomew the Apostle, patron saint of her parish, the day after receiving the last anointing and the breeze, at the age of 32.
In 1977, the process of the beatification of Anita Cantieri began, and on December 21, 1991, a decree on the heroic virtue of her virtues was approved.
