Wastewater treatment plant in Wola Kalinowska
Wastewater treatment plant in Wola Kalinowska - sewage treatment plant servicing approx. 40 km of sewerage network in the Sułoszowa commune. History
In December 2003. sewage treatment plant along with sewage network in the part of Wola Kalinowska was put into operation. Wastewater treatment provides full, mechanical-biological treatment using low-burden activated sludge with prolonged aeration, simultaneous removal of biogenic compounds and the use of sewage filtration process on suspended sediment in the separation zone. The receiver of treated wastewater is Prądnik, while a solid sludge is transported to a sewage treatment plant in Kraków or Olkusz and subjected to further processing. Due to the expansion of the sewerage network in the Sułoszowa commune, the capacity of the facility was increased considerably from 2010 to 100 m³ a day. Krzysztof Bolek, the president of WFOŚiGW in Krakow, calculated that thanks to the completion of the second stage of the development of the treatment plant, annually to Prądnik 20 tons of pollution will not go. Ultimately, after completion of the third stage of the extension, the treatment plant will have a capacity of 600 m³ per day.
