Raphaël Gay's biggest success came in 2013, when he teamed up with Julie Bresset, Jordan Sarrou and Maxim Marott to win a silver medal in the cross-country relay at the World Cup in Pietermaritzburg. In the same championship he finished fourth in the junior category, losing the bronze medal to Italy's Gioele Bertolini by only 5 seconds.
