Monument to Jozef Dowbor-Muśnicki in Lusow

Monument to Jozef Dowbor-Muśnicki - a statue of Jozef Dowbor-Muśnicki located in Lusowo (Poznan district). It was the first, and so far the only, monument to the General in Poland.

The monument was unveiled on December 29, 2015 in the village where Dowbor-Muśnicki lived in the last years of his life. The author of the monument standing at the local primary school was Robert Sobociński. A statue of a simple form (in a uniform on a pedestal) was built thanks to the efforts of the Lusow Memorial Society of General Joseph Dowbor-Muśnicki. Part of the funds for this purpose were provided by the City of Poznań and the Wielkopolskie Province. The object was dedicated to the Metropolitan of Poznan Archbishop Stanisław Gądecki. The ceremony was unveiled. Honorary Company of the 17th Wielkopolska Mechanized Brigade of the patron saint, General Miroslaw Różański, Senator Piotr Florek, Secretary of the Council for the Protection of the Memory of Struggle and Martyrdom Andrzej Kunert and representatives of state and local government. Also a letter from Piotr Gliński - Minister of Culture and National Heritage was also read.

The earliest mention of these creatures is dated to the fifth century BC, and its author is Herodotus.
