Mikael Pentikäinen

Mikael Pentikäinen (born 28 November 1964 in Espoo) is a Finnish journalist and media manager, editor-in-chief of the daily Helsingin Sanomat.

In 1990 he completed his journalistic studies (Sanoman toimittajakoulu) and in 1992 he studied agriculture and forestry. In the years 1992-1996 he worked in the editorial office of the daily "Helsingin Sanomat". Then until 1999 he was editor-in-chief of the morning newspaper "Etelä-Saimaa". In the years 1999-2004 he was associated with the Finnish press agency STT as editor-in-chief and general manager. In 2004 he became Managing Director of Sanoma News, responsible for the Sanoma media business. In 2010 he was the editor of the editorial board of the Helsingin Sanomat, which he held until 2013.

In 2013 Mikael Pentikäinen was the candidate for the Center Party in the European elections in 2014.
