Cabard horse
Cabardy horses are an old horse race originating in the Caucasus. It is characterized by endurance, excellent balance and stable gait in difficult terrain, ability to overcome long distances, courage and intelligence.
This breed was created by mixing many breeds of steppe horses (Nogaj, Kalmyk, Bashkirian, Donetsk) and noble (Karabakh, Persian, Aaltoian, Arabic) with Mongolian breeds. For hundreds of years this breed has developed naturally, and several times in the history of local breeders deliberately refined it with races from the outside to achieve specific features.
Today, cabarets are highly valued in long-distance horse racing due to their durability. Karo took second place in the German Championship in Löffingen in 2004, and two cabbies took the first two places in the Open Championship of Poland in Košice a week ago.
