Brachid
Brachidium, (brachidial platelet) - a skeletal part of the shoulder that occurs in some brachiopods.
Brachidium is the internal backbone of lofofor arms, supporting the hydrostatic apparatus that is moving there. It is a limb of the appendage, which is formed from the back of the dorsal shell.
Rhynchonellida brachidium is a crust and Terebratulida is a looped loop. Some fossils of Rhynchonelliformea had very complicated brachidia in the form of two conical, sometimes double helixes.
