Andrzej Sygut


Andrzej Sygut (born July 28, 1946 in Wierzbice) - Polish educator, lecturer and official, former Świętokrzyski curator of education (1990-2001), since 2002 Deputy Mayor of Kielce. Curriculum vitae

He completed his elementary school in Kyiv and in 1964, Hugona Kołłątaja in Pinczow. In the years 1964-1969 he studied in the field of Polish philology at the University. Adam Mickiewicz in Poznan.

After obtaining a master's degree, he worked for 1973 as an instructor at the Społem Spoldzielnia Spożywców "Społem" in Kielce. Between 1973 and 1990 he was employed as a lecturer at the Institute for Teacher Education and Educational Research in the city. From 1990 to 2001 he served as the Świętokrzyski's curator of education. In 1996 he wrote a letter to teachers and high school students in connection with the 50th anniversary of the Kielce pogrom. In 2002 he worked as a consultant in the Świętokrzyskie Center for Teachers Improvement.

From 1970 to 1981 he belonged to the United Peasants' Party. In the years 1980-1981 he was an expert of the board of Świętokrzyskie NSZZ "Solidarność". After 1989, he became involved in the ROAD and Democratic Union. In 2002 he was deputy president of Kielce.

In 1997, for outstanding merit in pedagogical work, he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta.
