Nikolai Wasilievich Novikov (Russian: Николай Васильевич Новиков, born November 27, 1909 in Żukowce, Orłowo Province, October 13, 1971 in Moscow) is a Soviet politician, Minister of the USSR Navy (1948-1953). 1926-1931 worked in a mechanical factory, 1932-1932 student of the rabfaku (worker's faculty), 1932-1933 studied at the Institute of Water Transport Engineering in Leningrad, and 1933-1939 at the Military-Transport Academy. 1939-1946 Head of Operations Service - Deputy Chief and (since July 1939) Head of the Northern Maritime Company, 1946 Head of Central Administration of the Ministry of Sea Fleet, USSR, 1946-1948 Deputy Minister of the USSR Marine Fleet. From October 23, 1948 to March 15, 1953 Minister of the USSR Marine Fleet, then to 1954 Deputy Minister of the Sea and River Fleet of the USSR. From April 1954 retired. Honors Bibliography
