On December 12, 1992, he was ordained a priest.

January 7, 2009 Pope Benedict XVI appointed him bishop of the Diocese of Iguatú. The Archbishop of Aracajú - José Palmeira Lessa, Archbishop of Bucuresti, gave him the March 19, 2009
