Charles Best (poet)
Charles Best (born 1570, died in 1627) - English poet of the late Renaissance. Nothing is known about his biography. He was one of the authors included in the anthology of Francis Davison Poetical Rapsodie from 1608. The first edition of this collection contains two works by the poet, an eighteen-meter poem entitled A Sonnet of the Sun and the classic A Sonnet of the Moon. For the second edition he added a few minor works, including epitaphs for Henry IV, King of France and Queen Elizabeth the Great. The famous piece of Best is Of the Fall of Man in Adam (About the fall of man in Adam).

Nothing is known of Best, yet this and numerous other sites confidently give his dates. These no doubt relate to a Charles Best, but there is nothing to connect this man, or any other Charles Best, with the poet. Or have I missed something?
