Joachim Schubart
Joachim Schubart (born August 5, 1928 in Berlin) - German astronomer.
In 1952 he graduated with an astronomy degree. In 1955 he obtained a doctoral degree, and in 1967 he was habilitated.
In the years 1955-1961 he worked at the Observatory in Sonneberg. From 1962, he worked at the Astronomischen Rechen-Institut (ARI) in Heidelberg, from 1970 as the main observer.
In 1960 he discovered the asteroid (2000) Herschel, and in 1961 co-discovered the asteroid (4724) Brocken.
In recognition of his work, one of the asteroids was named (1911) Schubart. Authoritative control (person):
