Żeglina Sieradz
Żeglina Sport Club - a sports club based in Sieradz. It was founded on March 13, 1971 from the merger of the "Start" Sport Club and the Canoe Section of the POST. The club joined the sports association "Ogniwo". The club has kayak, men's volleyball and athletics. Since 1990 athletics is the only section in the club. Since 1973, the club has been co-organizer of the "Crossing the Streets of Sieradz".
The most developed section was athletics. The players of the club have won many medals of the championship of Polish seniors, juniors, youth and cadets. The best athlete in history was Anna Pacholak-Guzowska, two-time silver medalist of the European Indoor Championships - in Vienna and Madrid in the relay race 4 x 400 meters. She participated in the Athens Games in 1996. The coach of the club is Mieczysław Nowak, whose players have won more than 50 medals of the Polish Championship.
Volleyball players performed in Lodz III and A class.
On November 29, 1973, Irena Szewińska was the honorary member of the club. Bibliography
