Simona Škrabec

Simona Škrabec (born 1968 in Ljubljana) is a Slovenian literary scholar, essayist and translator. She studied Germanic literature and literary comparisons at the University of Ljubljana. In 1992 she moved to Barcelona, ​​where she lives and works until today. In 2002, at the Autonomous University of Škrabek, she defended her doctorate on identity issues in Central European literature.

The translations of Škrabec into Catalan and Spanish include works by numerous Slovenian and Serbian writers: Boris Pahor, Drago Jančar, Aleš Debeljak and Danilo Kiša. But through his translations into Slovenian, Škrabec acquainted his compatriots with the works of such Catalan authors as Pere Calders, Jesús Moncada, Josep Vicenç Foix, Lluís Maria Todó and Jaume Cabré. Škrabec regularly writes for Catalan and Slovenian literary journals. She is also the author of several works devoted to Catalan, Spanish and Slovenian literature. Her book, L'estrip de la solitude, was awarded the Josep Carner Prize in Literature Theory. Bibliography

The earliest mention of these creatures is dated to the fifth century BC, and its author is Herodotus. According to her, these ants inhabited the deserts of Persia and India and extracted gold from their sands. Several such creatures were kept in the residence of the King of Persia.
