Pelagia Jankowiak-Ziętek


Pelagia Jankowiak-Ziętek (born January 6, 1888, died in 1985) is a participant in the strike of the children of September.

Curriculum vitae

Her parents were Walenty and Agnieszka. In the years 1895-1902 she attended the Catholic School of Folk in Września. Being a pupil of classes I and II participated in the strike of the children of September. As a result of the strike, her school duty was extended by six months. In 1912 she married a master of blacksmith Ziętek from Gniezno. She worked in the trade.

As the last surviving participant in the strike of the children of September, she took part in the unveiling of a plaque commemorating Jan Laskowski on the wall of the historic school building in May 1981. Last years she spent with her daughter in Znin. She died in 1985 and was buried in the cemetery in Gniezno. Honors

For the participation in the strike of the children of September, was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta in 1977. Bibliography
