About the death of Jan Tarnowski, the castellan of Cracow, to his son, Jan Krisztof - a poem by Jan Kochanowski published in Krakow in 1561 in Lazar Printing, the oldest piece of Kochanowski in Polish.
This poem is dedicated to the memory of Jan Amor Tarnowski, who died in 1561, and is addressed to his son, Jan Krzysztof. The work is an epitaph of the deeds and merits of the deceased, and also contains words of consolation, which is the vision of eternal life, which is a reward for virtue and service to the homeland.
