Military Revolutionary Council of the Republic (Russia) Революционный Военный Совет Республики (RWSR) - the supreme collective military and political authority of Soviet Russia.

The council was created on September 6, 1918, in place of dissolved Supreme Military Council and its staff on the basis of the WCKW decree of September 3, 1918 on transforming the state into a unified military camp. The council was at the forefront of all fronts and all military institutions, merging the administrative and operational functions of the military leadership of the republic. The chairman of the council was the People's Commissar for Military Affairs and Navy, a member of the Central Committee of the RPK (b), approved by WCKW Lew Trotsky. Its task was to control the proper implementation of the RPK's military policy (b). The highest commanding unit of the Council was the Staff of the Revolutionary Military Council of the Republic, formed on September 6, 1918, in place of the dissolved staff of the Supreme Military Council. According to the RWSR Order of 2 October 1918, the Staff of the RWSR was renamed to the Military Staff of the Revolutionary Military Council on November 8, 1918, subordinate to the commanding general and the RWSR.
