The group emphasized the need to intervene in social life, to turn literature into reality, to speak directly, without unnecessary metaphor, to reject poetry. Poetic conventions should be adapted to the requirements of the epoch. The key concepts in the group's work were modernity and modernity. Members of the group critically referred to the "Contemporary" generation, accusing authors associated with it of creating safe poetry, fleeing from today's difficult.
In terms of language, the group was approaching expressionism. According to the authors of the group, poetry should have persuasive and mobilizing functions, hence the authors willingly used the lyric of appeal, proclamation, commanding mode.
