Bjørnsonfestivalen Festival - an international literary festival organized every year in the Norwegian towns of Molde and Nesset.
The festival commemorates the 1903 Nobel Prize laureate of Norway, Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson, who attended school in Molde and started his publicity career. The main aim of the festival, which has been taking place since 1992, is to support literary works of art. The program includes seminars devoted to various aspects of poetry and prose, art exhibitions and writing courses. Human rights issues, freedom of speech and help for persecuted writers are the most frequently discussed topics. The festival's guests have previously included: Wole Soyinka, Yaşar Kemal, Seamus Heaney, Amos Oz, Bei Dao, Hans Blix, Qiu Xiaolong and Thor Heyerdahl. es
